With historical low temperatures everywhere....it is so important to protect your locs. The colder the season, the drier your scalp will be. For people who battle with dry scalp, the cold weather could mean an itchy and inflamed scalp. Here are a few tips to help get through the cold weather:
Hope this helps. Stay warm!!!

I always tell potential clients that not all Sisterlocks Consultants will work out for everyone. It could be a scheduling conflict. It could be personality differences. It could the space in which you will be receiving services. Whatever the reason, it is important to find a Sisterlocks Consultant that you are comfortbale with and that you trust will guide you along this journey. Afterall, you will be with this person initially for 15-20 hours and then every 6-8 weeks there after. Not to mention the financial commitment. So I say to all the natural beauties out there who are considering Sisterlocks, if you don't feel comfortable with the first Consultant you meet, schedule another Consultation with a different Consultant. I also know that not all Consultants give free consultations but if you are serious about Sisterlocks, it is well worth your time, your energy and your money to find someone you trust and who will be with you throughout your Sisterlocks journey. Many blessings to all during this holiday season. Be safe and enjoy the time spent with your families.

Last Friday, December 6, 2013 I celebrated 7 years of Sisterlocks and being natural. Time sure flies when you are having fun. I look back at where I had been and where I am going. My journey has been such an amazing journey. Now as a Certified Sisterlocks Consultant, I share this gift with others. I want to give thanks and praise to Jehovah God first and foremost for allowing Dr. C. to share her gift with the world. I also give thanks and praise to all of my clients. I have met some amazing women throughout my journey and without Sisterlocks, their friendship would not exist. As this year marked the 20th Anniversary for Sisterlocks, I smile and look forward to the next 20 years. It only gets better from here. Tell me about your journey and for those who are dreaming about Sisterlocks, Joy Page once said, " Dream and give yourself permission to envision a You that you choose to be.

I have been asked time and time again, how do I keep up with this schedule of mines???? I work full time and then come home and do Sisterlocks. My Sisterlocks business is truly a part-time job but it's my baby. I don't consider it work. I love it and I truly enjoy it. I have found my passion in life. I was given this wonderful gift and it is truly an honor and pleasure to share this gift with others.
Keeping up and loving it!

Ok I have been absent for about two weeks but I have a very good excuse....LIFE! I have been super busy with clients and events. I attended the Curls Gone Wild Natural Hair and Health Expo at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury and it was so nice. Congratulations to Three Little Birds LLC for such a wonderful event. I look forward to the next one. I also co-hosted a workshop on Sisterlocks at the Quincy Library...we shall talk later about that. I just want to say to the natural community that there are so many wonderful events being brought to our city and I hope to see you all there. If you are looking for events, please join an amazing meet up grop called "Boston Naturals" organized by a wonderful young lady Rica. She is working hard to make sure that everyone is inclusive and that the events being offered are useful tot hte natural community. Get involved and join. I did!

I just wanted to reflect on the month of September for S2S. Things are definitely going in the right direction. Four new beautiful clients this month. Thank you all for putting your hair in our hands. It's been crazy. Milestone for S2S...blessed with ability to add 9 new appointment times to our calendar for the month of October. As we expand, we will continue to add more appointments.
Sisterlocks is such a blessing in so many ways. We have been able to form long lasting friendships with so many unique individuals. We love our clients. Each and everyone brings their own uniqueness to S2S. We have laughed, we have cried, we have explored, we have discovered, we have apologized, we have hugged....we have realized the beauty within.
Thank you again.

I strongly disagree. I have heard this statement many times and I am sure that I will continue to hear it. I look at Sisterlocks as an investment. Sisterlocks is something that I wanted. Therefore, I saved up for it. It didn't matter how much it cost because I WANTED IT. People are looking at the cost of Sisterlocks with tunnel vision; only seeing the cost of the inital install. But once you take those blinders off and look at the big picture, 9 times out of 10, Sisterlocks is less expensive and less time consuming than whatever you are currently doing with your natural hair.
Take it from a person who was in the salon every other week and getting a touch up every six weeks and getting scalp treatments inbetween my touch ups, don't forget my color and tips, not mention the amount of product I had accumulated over the course of a year. But the reason why I considered Sisterlocks has not even been stated....time. I spent countless hours in the salon every other Saturday. My schedule just could not tolerate that anymore.
Yes I spent 20 hours getting my Sisterlocks installed but I now only spend 3 hours every six weeks on my Sisterlocks. This is truly priceless. Forget about the money, my time is valuable and Sisterlocks allows me to spend more time doing whatever it is I want to do and less time worrying about my hair.
With all the weaves, braids, twist, wigs, leave-in conditioners......nothing compares to Sisterlocks.
