You Need Patience....Not Lock Extensions

Posted on 6 July, 2015 at 16:23 Comments comments (25)

Locks regardless of what type of locks, takes patience.  This is not an instant gratification hair style. If you truly want locks, embrace the journey.  It is amazing what you will learn about your hair and yourself.  I am not against lock extensions at all but I am against...."I don't short hair.".  Pardon me, but what length of hair were you born with???  My favorite length when I did the big chop was 2 inches.  I have been locked for almost 9 years now and last Friday, I cut off about 3+ inches of locks without any hesitation.  It will grow back.  It is hair and it is organic.  It wants to grow and I allow it to grow.  My hair is still long but it was a bit much for me.  The bottom line is each and every phase of the locking process is unique in its own way.  You will appreciate the journey a lot more when you look back at what it took to get you to your goal. You might even learn a few new things along the way.

Be blessed and keep it real...... naturally!!!

New Year Resolutions are always about getting healthy.  Well don't forget to include getting your hair healthy as well.  If you are considering making some life style changes and natural hair is on your mind....consider Sisterlocks.  I just recently celebrated my 7th year with Sisterlocks and I have never looked back.  I don't worry about my hair in the gym either.  Get healthy in the New Year and work it out with Sisterlocks!!!!!! You won't regret it and this is definitiely a New Year Resolution that you won't break.   Many blessings.

7 Years and Counting

Last Friday, December 6, 2013 I celebrated 7 years of Sisterlocks and being natural.  Time sure flies when you are having fun.  I look back at where I had been and where I am going.  My journey has been such an amazing journey.  Now as a Certified Sisterlocks Consultant, I share this gift with others.  I want to give thanks and praise to Jehovah God first and foremost for allowing Dr. C. to share her gift with the world.  I also give thanks and praise to all of my clients.  I have met some amazing women throughout my journey and without Sisterlocks, their friendship would not exist.  As this year marked the 20th Anniversary for Sisterlocks, I smile and look forward to the next 20 years.  It only gets better from here.  Tell me about your journey and for those who are dreaming about Sisterlocks, Joy Page once said, " Dream and give yourself permission to envision a You that you choose to be.

The Price For Sisterlocks Is Too Much!!!

I strongly disagree.  I have heard this statement many times and I am sure that I will continue to hear it.  I look at Sisterlocks as an investment.  Sisterlocks is something that I wanted.  Therefore, I saved up for it.  It didn't matter how much it cost because I WANTED IT.  People are looking at the cost of Sisterlocks with tunnel vision; only seeing the cost of the inital install.  But once you take those blinders off and look at the big picture, 9 times out of 10, Sisterlocks is less expensive and less time consuming than whatever you are currently doing with your natural hair.
Take it from a person who was in the salon every other week and getting a touch up every six weeks and getting scalp treatments inbetween my touch ups, don't forget my color and tips, not mention the amount of product I had accumulated over the course of a year.  But the reason why I considered Sisterlocks has not even been stated....time.  I spent countless hours in the salon every other Saturday.  My schedule just could not tolerate that anymore.
Yes I spent 20 hours getting my Sisterlocks installed but I now only spend 3 hours every six weeks on my Sisterlocks.  This is truly priceless.  Forget about the money, my time is valuable and Sisterlocks allows me to spend more time doing whatever it is I want to do and less time worrying about my hair.
With all the weaves, braids, twist, wigs, leave-in conditioners......nothing compares to Sisterlocks.

More Than One Sisterlocks Consultation

I always describe the Sisterlocks Consultatoin as an interview.  You are interviewing us to see if we as Consultants are knowledgable and experienced to take this exciting journey with you and we are interviewing you to make sure that you are ready to take this journey as well as giving you important information which will enable you to make the best informed decisions about your natural hair.  Should you go through more than one Consultation?  Simply put, if you don't get that warm and fuzzy from your Consultant and there is an ounce of doubt that you two are not a good fit, I say schedule another Consultation with a different Consultant.  All clients don't fit all Consultants.  Moreover, all Consultants don't fit all clients.  It's informed and shop around but most importantly, you have to be comfortable with your Consultant and trust that she/he will provide you with the best service while on your Sisterlocks journey.  Many blessings to all.

Brings Joy to My Heart

My weekends seem to be pretty busy as of late and sometimes it is easy to become distracted with things that are not a priority in my life.  One particurlar client made me realize this when she started crying and said to me and my sister that "God is good".  This is so true.  Which led me to recall Matthew 6:33.  Jehovah God promises that if we continue to put Kingdom interests first in our lives, he will take care of all our needs, spirtual and physical.  It is evident that Jehovah is blessing me and that my blessings are being passed on to our clients.  Thank you Jehovah!

Precious Gems

I have a hand full of clients that are "Silver Foxes".  A Silver Fox is an older women with gray/silver locks.  These women are so encouraging.  Most of them cannot come to me as my hair studio is on the 3rd floor.  Therefore, I go to them.  What a blessing.  Proverbs 16:31 reads, Gray-headedness is a crown of beauty when it is found in the way of righteousness.  Amen....need I say more!

Do your homework......

Here I am again torn between emotions of being happy because my clientele is growing but feeling sad because so many of you lovely ladies are not getting the service you deserve.  This natural hair care system called Sisterlocks is such a blessing.  No need to reinvent the wheel. Dr. C. did an amazing job at that and I am thankful each and every day for her.  Sisterlocks is such a wonderful gift and I am so honored to provide this service.  With that said, do your homework ladies.  This is not a walk in the park.  It's a journey.  Don't be fooled by low prices, 15 minute consultations and so-called quick installations.  This is not the case.  Good things come to those who wait.  Embrace this journey because it is definitely worth the wait.

Cheaper is not always better.  Caveat emptor/ˌkævɑːtˈɛmptɔr/ is Latin for "Let the buyer beware"

Sisterlocks Extensions

Some serious technical difficulties have
been going on.....but I am back to talk about S2S and Sisterlocks.  Sorry for the radio silence.  Recently I was called about Sisterlocks extensions...hmmmmm.  Well to each its own but know this good people.  Any time you alter Sisterlocks hint hint they are no longer Sisterlocks.  We are so overly concerned with length and instance gratification.  This is a journey not a walk in the park.  It is a beautiful journey and it does not need to be alter.  Your hair will grow beyond your wildest dreams.  If you are thinking about Sisterlocks are some words of wisdom to you.  Sisterlocks extensions do not exist.  Hence they are just hair extensions which defeats the natural process.  Be careful out there!
